Thanks but no thanks.

All you hear on the news is about health care bills.  Frankly I don’t want the government running health care.  Have you seen how the post office is run?  That is going to be the mess of our health care system.  How about we all take our health care into our own hands.

I propose this bill, for myself.  To make myself so healthy I won’t need prescriptions, drs., hospitals, or anyone to take care of my health but me. How about we start our day with meditation and prayer for the answers to the thorny problems of health care?

Then have a substantial breakfast of real food, not Cheerios full of sugar.  After meditation and a substantial breakfast what about making sure my day isn’t overrun with useless time wasters making me so stressed my blood pressure skyrockets.  My point here is the government isn’t responsible for our health, that was never the intent of our forefathers.  We are responsible for our health.  We must demand that the food we are getting from our farms are not covered with preservatives and pesticides that can cause cancer.  We must demand, the animals we consume are treated humanely.  We must demand that if we want to raise a cow, and drink its raw milk that the government won’t interfere.  The government doesn’t belong in our personal day-to-day life.  Those choices must stay in our control.

With that freedom comes great responsibility.  You get this one body, find what makes it healthy.  Did you know that 90% of the illnesses we have that are killing us is lifestyle related?  It’s time to get disciplined, it’s time to stop looking for a pill for our ills, and eat right, drink good clean water, and sleep 8-10 hours a day.  It’s time we stop expecting the government to do everything, and be responsible for our own health.

Just imagine a world where everyone is so healthy dr.’s are only needed in severe emergencies.  What a utopia that would be.  It’s in our hands, it’s always been in our hands.  All we have to do is seize it, and do it.

Thank President Obama for trying to help, but I can do it myself thank you.

hello you mentioned a breakfast of real foods i totally agree and i have several that i eat of real food i think . i am sure i make some mistakes as well also .

please supply maybe 3 breakfast menus that would be real food , healthy food , yet provide some variety .

for me right now breakfast for me is bacon, or sausage and eggs , toast and coffee if not that it is oatmeal .

i cant seem to do the oatmeal thing regularly enough .

as the years go on i consume more eggs i believe every year . i love eggs fried, scrambled, scrambled in the microwave, soft boiled you name it . if i continue increasing the egg consuption each year what are the possible dangers if any . i have read a lot of agree and disagree on eggs being bad or not bad for cholestral , and recently have read that egg yolks can play a major role in good eye sight .
please advise your opinion on this as well .

the thanks but no thanks posting is awesome and hopefully the beginning of a weekly post on food topics please !!!!!! if you have the time

    thanks again .

What should be eaten in the morning is an important start of your day. The best thing to start with is a tall glass of water, then fruit an apple or orange, or banana. Fruit is the best if eaten before noon. Anykind of berries, watermelon, cantalope, are also recommended. Oatmeal is good with berries, and some honey. Eat eggs only a couple of times a week. Protien isn’t the best in the morning after not eating all night, it’s to hard to digest just starting out. It’s best to eat protiens at lunch. An ideal way to eat, is fruit in the morning, protiens, and veggies at lunch, fruit at snacks in between, and at night grains, and more veggies. This works in harmony with the body.

it just so happened that prior to me commenting on the thanks but no thanks post i made a big bowl of fruit salad . it was made up of several fresh oranges grapefruits , a bananna , and several cans of fruit cocktail and a can of peaches and one can of pineaple chunks so its all thrown together

just by coincidence this is a great time for me to begin a 30 day fruit breakfast challenge .

the point was well taken about protein not be very digestible when you first wakeup . everyone talks about how the old time farmer got up at 5 am and ate this huge breakfast bacon susage ham bisquits gravy eggs hash browns but he also worked for the next 5 to 6 hours extremely hard in the field . we no longer do that . so this all makes sense .

just curious what happens to the digestive processes when you skip breakfast as many of us do from time to time due mainly to having to rush out for an early call or errand prior to beginning the day , or begin a traveling day ??

this is getting interesting i think i am going to learn how many breakfastses i miss in 30 days and i will probably pay closer attention to what i eat mid to late morning then .

    thank you again

Often that involved with skipping breakfast is rushing out with a cup of coffee. It would be much better to drink a large glass of water with lemon and some honey if you must “skip” breakfast. Many are so ravonous by lunch they eat way to much processed foods, and very little vegtables. It is so easy to eat a piece of fruit in the car on the way to work, or several pieces of fruit. What happens when you don’t eat breakfast to the digestive system, is it starts going into starvation mode, and slows the metabolism. Blood sugar levels drop, and often times a person feels tired, and isn’t mentally sharp, as when something is eaten in the morning. It’s much better health wise to eat throughout the day, and fruit and veggies are so portable.

in the past i have always taken a no holes barred approach to any fruit salad , mixing canned fruits, with fresh. should i change that approach. ??
it is obvious fresh fruits are best but not always possible in the hustle and bustle of things . so i am sure canned fruits are much better than none or some other food that should be eaten at a diferent time .

the other thing is are there any fruits that should not be mixed maybe due to their acid or alkaline properties . ???

thanks again for posting answers to all of this but i can tell already after two days this fruit breakfast seems to be a definite possibility .

maintaining it at an optimum level might get tricky .

but i am sure you will offer solutions to that as well .

Canned fruit has lost most if not all it’s enzymes. These enzymes are important to the body. Fresh or frozen if you can’t do fresh is best because of this. Besides, I have read the aluminum in the cans can cause some problems as well.
